Local Government
The City of West Linn is a full-
service municipality with a council/
manager form of government. The
City Council consists of Mayor John
Kovash and four Councilors acting
as the Board of Directors of the City
of West Linn Municipal Corpora-
tion. The Councilors are Jenni Tan,
Jody Carson, Mike Jones, and Terri
Cummings. The city manager, Chris
Jordan, is the City’s chief executive
officer.
The City Council meets the second
and fourth Monday of each month
at City Hall. Council meetings are
televised live on West Linn TV cable
Channel 30 and replayed during
the week. The City also cablecasts
and replays meetings of the West
Linn Planning Commission, Budget
Committee, Board of County Com-
missioners and other public meetings
and events on cable Channel 30.

pear on the Channel 30 TV Reader
board.
Municipal services are provided by
a staff of 147 employees and headed
by the city manager. The City oper-
ates its own police department, a
municipal court, water, wastewater,
and storm water utilities, street op-
erations, planning, engineering, fleet
management, library, and extensive
year-round parks and recreation
department. The Tualatin Valley Fire
and Rescue District provides fire and
emergency services.
West Linn is in Clackamas County.
It is run by a board of commissioners
based in neighboring Oregon City.
West Linn is part of Metro, an urban
services district consisting of three
counties and 25 cities in the Port-
land, Oregon, region.

City residents have many oppor-
tunities to affect city policies and
priorities by serving on city boards
and commissions and through
membership in their neighborhood
associations.
