There is a special energy about the
Willamette area that has attracted
more than 40 wellness practitioners
of different disciplines to establish a
practice here. The result is a remark-
able enclave of professionals com-
mitted to providing the resources for
those on a path of healing. Formally
organized as the Willamette Well-
ness Community in 2003, the group
of merchants and practitioners share
a vision for expanding their com-
munity and making Willamette a
destination for health and wellness
in the Portland area. East mingles
with West up and down Willamette
Falls Drive as naturopathic physi-
cians and acupuncturists share foot
traffic with dentists and podiatrists.
Practitioners can be found organiz-
ing and participating in local wellness
fairs, staffing booths at the West Linn
Farmers Market, raising money for
Japan relief efforts through Pilates
classes or offering a Yoga retreat
with meditation classes and mas-
sage at the Sachi Wellness Center.
The Willamette Wellness
