The central region
sits between Canada’s
British Columbia and east-
ern Oregon. There, Lake
Chelan, the largest natural
lake in the state, offers a boater’s dream for fishing, fabulous resorts, water
sports, and camping. Just north of Chelan, miles of cross country skiing for your winter
fun can be found in the Methow Valley. Enjoy the “western” experience in Ellensburg,
where one of the oldest and professionally prominent rodeos in the nation takes place
every year. Just a short drive south and you are in the greater Yakima region where half
of the wine in Washington State is processed or grown. Tasting rooms are throughout the
region and be sure to check out the murals that decorate many buildings in Toppenish.
