Mt. Hood Community College
Planetarium Sky Theater:
Live
shows are presented on the first
Monday of every month at 7 and
8:15 p.m. for only $2 (Mt. Hood
students admitted free). Theater
is wheelchair accessible. All
shows are presented under a re-
alistic representation of the
night sky, featuring the latest
galactic, stellar and planetary
images. Seating is on a first-
come, first-served basis. Theater
is on the Gresham campus, 26000
S.E. Stark St., beneath the li-

Mt. Hood Community College
Aquatic Center:
The center,
26000 S.E. Stark St., offers swim-
ming lessons, open adult swims,
a rock wall and special pro-
grams. It also offerings an Ad-
venture Camp for kids all sum-
mer for $175 per week. Info: 503-

Historic Downtown Gresham:
Check out the unique local busi-
nesses of downtown Gresham by
strolling down tree-lined Main
Avenue. Although Gresham is
the fourth largest city in the
state, its downtown denizens
thrive on the charming, home-
town feeling that seems to be
missing in so many cities.
Gresham Farmers Market:
The
Gresham Farmers’ Market re-
turned May 11 for its 28th season
on Third Street between Main
and Miller avenues in historic
downtown Gresham. The market
operates from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
every Saturday rain or shine
though Oct. 26. It features fruits
and vegetables from local grow-
ers across the Northwest, includ-
ing organic growers. Fruit will
start with berries in June, cher-
ries in July and then stone fruit
and other treed crops in July,
August and September. There
will be a full complement of veg-
etables by July. Annuals, peren-
nials, herbs, hanging baskets,
shrubs and trees, along with cut
flowers and bulbs, will also be
available. Local artisans will of-
fer garden furniture, garden art,
photography, soaps, knife sharp-
ening and more. Gourmet food
products, pork, beef , goat
cheese, baked goods and honey
will be represented in addition
to ready-to-eat hot foods, kettle
corn and elephant ears. Live mu-
sic will play from 10:30 a.m. to 1
p.m. every Saturday. For more
