A rendezvous is a meeting place, and the
Dale Lumpkin
Rendez-
vous
is a place where artisans from around the world met to create
a home that will host a lifetime of gatherings in comfort and style.
Dale’s past experience with Emil Muresan of Muresan Construc-
tion made Emil the obvious choice to tackle both the foundation
work and the framing. The framed exterior was sprayed
with
Enviro-Dri
,
a more permanent, e ective, and complete
weather-resistant barrier. It protects sheathing from liquid
moisture, and its permeable membrane allows for moisture
vapor to pass to the outside ensuring drying and a better build-
ing envelope as well as reducing air in ltration through the ex-
terior walls.
As a nod to vintage Norman architecture,
The Rendezvous
has classic brick details created by the Vio’s Masonry team,
capped with a tile roof by KE Harn. Landscape architect Ron
Thompson of Thompson Design worked closely with Vitaly Shavlov-
skiy of Premier Pools & Spas to integrate function and design into the
grounds, pool, and outdoor living spaces.
Antique ceilings by Shaun Burke of Bravura Finishes greet the eye
with artistic detail. Festive features continue in the great room with
The Guardians
replace by Stone Magic. Rick Myers of Eagle Designs
created furniture-look cabinetry with leaded glass uppers. The re-
frigerator, a collaboration between
Peggy Lumpkin
and decorative
painter Jeni Nelson of Impressions, is a reproduction of the actual
menu from
Le Chat Noir
, the famous Parisian restaurant.
Each bedroom is a suite with a distinct personality due in large
part to the fabricated stone and porcelains installed by Stone
Age Granite & Marble who took on the counters and the tile
oors for the entire house. Dave Working of Cinematouch was
in charge of the fun electronic “toys” and security.
The comfort and e ciency of
The Rendezvous
is the result
of many behind-the-scenes techniques with state-of-the-art
insulation by Westside Drywall, including R38 open cell spray
in the attic and 2.5” closed cell spray foam in the oors, and
mechanical by Roth Heating & Air Conditioning.
The Rendezvous
is a
“conditioned” home, which means the attics and crawl spaces have
no vents to the outdoors. Conditioned attics and crawl spaces per-
form better than vented spaces in terms of safety, health, comfort,
durability, and energy consumption.
