Technology has been integrating its way into homes over the past
few years through cool installations like wireless sound systems, auto-
matic shades and remote security systems.
Now it’s come to the bathroom. And while programmable shower-
heads and heated toilet and bidet seats, like those in some of the
NW
Natural Street of Dreams
bathrooms, are pretty cutting edge, there’s
even more going on than that.
The master bathroom in
TTM Development Company’s
Street
home, the
Two Thousand Thirteen
, features a cutting-edge
Moxie
showerhead from Kohler (top photo and “B” below). No ordinary show-
erhead, the Moxie is actually a showerhead plus wireless speaker
that syncs wirelessly with iPhones and other devices up to 30
feet away. So while you’re scrubbing away, the Moxie showers
you with 60 angled nozzles and a waterfall of sound.
And over in
JT Smith Companies
’ home, a Kohler tub with
VibrAcoustic technology wirelessly syncs with mobile de-
vices to play music. But not just in speakers above the wa-
terline; the technology actually plays the music and lets the
sound waves flow through the water all around you.
“It’s a bit new-age inspired,” says
Tammy Lefever
of
Interior Motives
, “but it’s supposed to give you an
overwhelming feeling of relaxation.”
