home on this year’s NW
Natural Street of Dreams may have one
of the healthiest features of the whole
street.
“It’s got lots of storage for red wine,”
she says.
Though the interior designer behind
The Rendezvous
jests, her humor does
illustrate that the idea of healthy living
in today’s homes goes farther than it
ever has before. From sport courts and
swimming pools to vegetable gardens,
air exchangers and drywall that actu-
ally cleans the air, healthy living is alive
and well on the NW Natural Street of
Dreams — and lots of other places, too.
“I’d say people in the Northwest
are pretty health conscious,” says
Jeff
Haggart
, owner of
Haggart Luxury
Homes
and the builder behind
South-
ern Exposure
. “That’s just the way peo-
ple are, and you get to a point in your
life when you can start incorporating
that into your home.”
In the past, Haggart has built every-
thing from technical putting greens
and yoga rooms to bocce ball courts.
For his home on this year’s tour, incor-
porating all things healthy and active
started early in the building process, all
the way back with the selection of the
lot. One of the larger ones available,
the lot lent itself well to a full-size sport
court, complete with a tennis court and
basketball hoops. There’s also a large
putting green. All of that outdoor ac-
tivity space blends right into an indoor
exercise room, which is only separated
from outside by a large glass roll-up ga-
rage door.
Along with the wine storage in The
Rendezvous —

also has a two-
story wine room — the home boasts a
swimming pool with jets that create a
current to swim against, ideal for lap-
free workouts.
Clearhaven

Homes
, also features a custom swim-
ming pool that will keep not only the
residents active, but their grandchil-
dren, too. The pool has a custom water-
slide built right in.
