2013 NW NATURAL STREET OF DREAMS •
www.StreetofDreamsPDX.com
This year’s NW Natural Street of Dreams rep-
resents the 38th consecutive year the
Home
Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland
(HBAMP) has put on this show. That’s a true tes-
tament to the tenacity and commitment of a lot
of people – developers, builders, subcontractors,
suppliers, sponsors and our staff. Through the ups and downs
of the housing market, HBAMP has worked to bring this unique
showcase of homes to the public every year.
What’s also important to know is that HBAMP is just as com-
mitted to ensuring everyone in our region can realize their own
housing dream. We believe that realizing the dream of homeown-
ership is one of the fundamental values in our society. It helps cre-
ate good neighborhoods, better schools, closer communities, and
even stronger families.
This work starts with helping people who have been through
difficult life circumstances and who may not even have a place
to live, period. Our
Home Builders Foundation
works with local
non-profit housing shelters to build shelters and add capacity for
folks who first need a simple roof over their heads and some help
to rebuild their lives.
We also work to provide affordable housing for people who
have gained some stability in their lives but who don’t have the
means to buy a home at market rate prices. We partner with Habi-
tat for Humanity to help build homes for families who want to own
their own home but are making well belowmedian wage incomes.
Beyond that, our industry provides a wide range of housing
choices - from starter homes to move up homes, from dense urban
condos to rural estates, from homes for growing families to homes
empty nesters can live in as they get older. We can even connect
you with people who can remodel your current home to make it
meet your growing or changing needs.
So as you enjoy this year’s show, remember that we want every-
one to be able to fulfill their own dream of homeownership. We
hope you have fun, gain some new ideas, maybe even connect
with a member or two who can help you with a home, design or
landscaping project. Visit our website at
www.hbapdx.org
or call
us at (503) 684-1880 to be connected to a variety of resources HBA
offers to help homeowners and those who aspire to be homeown-
ers. And thanks, once again, for sharing part of your summer with
us and keeping the dreams alive.
