TVF&R re ghters are highly-trained
and ready to respond. Every TVF&R
re ghter is certi ed as an emergency
medical technician or paramedic and
with at least one paramedic on every
response unit, patients with even
the most serious conditions can be
stabilized and treated prior to being
transported to a hospital. TVF&R’s
specialty rescue teams respond to in-
cidents involving hazardous materials,
rope and water rescue, and structural
collapse.

The Sherwood Public Library -
A Vibrant Community Resource
Established in 1935 with a single shelf
of books in a local store, the Sherwood
Public Library now o ers a wide range
of informational, educational, cultural
and recreational materials, and public
Internet access. The extensive resources
of the Washington Cooperative Library
Services network are accessible, as well
as interlibrary loan from libraries around
the world. No question is too big or
small for the skilled library reference
sta .
Toddler and Preschool Story Times
and the Summer Reading Program are
popular with local children. The innova-
tive Read to the Dogs program provides
a fun way for children to develop their
reading skills.
Weekend and evening author visits
and cultural arts activities for people of
all ages are also o ered throughout the
year, including popular Writing Work-
shops for adults.
The Friends of the Sherwood Library
o er generous support to the library’s
programs and activities, including an
annual Spring Used Book Sale. Many
volunteers support the skilled sta in
attentively serving library patrons.
