Like most families, this one considers the
kitchen the heart of its home. It is a gathering place
to cook dinner, do homework or just gather after a
busy day and catch up with each other.
With this in mind, it was important to bring
new life to its kitchen. Major elements of the
remodel included removing the existing light oak
cabinets and the dropped ceiling as well as adding
in new custom glazed and stained cabinets.
The cabinets include raised panel doors and
drawers. The drawers are solid wood dovetailed
boxes with soft close hardware. A benefit of
removing the existing dropped ceiling allowed
additional lighted display cabinets to be included. To
improve the space within the kitchen, a wall between the
kitchen and dining room was also opened up.
Adding to the finishing touches, Monte Carlo Bordeaux
granite countertops were added and enhanced by the
travertine tile backsplash. To help the homeowners enjoy
their new kitchen even more, all-new appliances were
added, as well as a 6-foot by 8-foot pantry addition.
The new pantry includes built-in cabinets, shelving and
new countertops. No idea was left untouched, and this
is evident by the second oven that was installed in the
pantry for those busy holiday dinners.
