As the homeowner’s
hobby for wine was
taking off, space for
storing that invest-
ment was becoming a
challenge.
Al-
though the wine cellar was
always a focus, the master
bath needed updating as
well. The to-do list grew
to include the powder
bath, upstairs guest
bath, master-bed-
room fireplace
and the entry
staircase. Iron

fulfill such dreams.
An Old World wine cellar was a dream of
the homeowners. They wanted it to feel
like they were stepping back in time. After
three weeks and 14 dumpsters of rock and
dirt, the dream started to come alive. Seven
hundred bottles of wine can be stored in
the new custom cabinets.
A full bar with a dishwasher, refrigerator
and freezer drawer, old hammered
sink, and a pull-out 42-inch
television screen make the cellar
more than just wine storage.
An old terracotta floor, stone
walls and glass fireplace
give this wine cellar its
Old World charm.
In the entry, some of the craftsman influ-
ences were replaced with traditional cherry
columns. Removing the half walls at the top
of the stairs united the space.
In the master bath, the fiberglass shower
was cramped for the homeowner. After
reworking the floor plan, a new step-down
steam shower with all the bells and whistles
was installed.
A two-person soaking tub and fireplace
creates an alternative space for relax-
ing. His and her vanity with mirror wraps,
under-mount sinks with crystal faucets and
granite countertops provide a welcoming
atmosphere in this space.
