Two condominium
units that originally
were built in the
1970s have been
combined and
totally remodeled to
provide a magnificent
contemporary living space for the owner
high above the City of Portland.
This 2,800-square-foot home now
features an entertainment area with
insulated glass windows and an oversized
sliding glass door accessing one of three
decks. These enhancements provide
an incredible panorama to the east,
featuring the city, the Willamette River,
and Mount Hood off in the distance. This
entertainment area also features a wet bar
and a beautiful gas fireplace.
Wood flooring and custom built-in
bookcases and cabinetry, using both
mahogany and walnut woods, have been
used throughout the home, providing
warmth to balance the contemporary style.
The home now has two bedrooms,
one being a master bedroom and bath
with master closet, a living room with gas
fireplace, kitchen with Wolf and Jenn-Aire
appliances, formal dining area, office with
a Murphy bed for visitors, library, TV room
and two other decks.
The use of custom lighting showcases
various shelves and nooks for collectibles
and art work. The tasteful use of granite,
marble, tile and stone in the kitchen, wet
bar and baths adds to an ambiance of
exquisite taste.
The owner’s goal was to create as
maintenance-free an environment as
possible to enhance his quality of life,
which has been nicely accomplished.
