We kick off 2013 inter-
viewing Lake Oswego’s
new mayor, Kent Stude-
baker. Nicole DeCosta
was curious to find out
more about the man
whose second home will
be city hall starting this
month. Also in the spirit
of new beginnings, Sher-
ry Dorn is dusting off the
tired black suit and giving
it new life with trend-set-
ting pieces and accessories.
Looking for some new
recipes to add to your rep-
ertoire this year? We’ve asked three lo-
cal chefs to share some of their healthy
favorites...after all, doesn’t everyone
want to be a little healthier in the new
year? We thought so, that’s
why we polled a few local
experts on the subject and
offer their top tips in this
issue.
Finally, with Lake Os-
wego Reads about to kick
off next month (see the
extended 4-page pullout
with a jam-packed cal-
endar of events in this
issue), it got us wonder-
ing what other books are
sitting on Lake Oswego
residents’ nightstands.
We all love a good book
recommendation; now you can get a few
every month in L.O.
Happy reading! The L.O. Team
I
t’s funny to think that in the dead of winter January is
a time of New Year’s resolutions and new beginnings.
So it is here in the pages of L.O., as well.
Cyndie Glazer and Bill Baars, who are Lake Oswego Library’s program coordinator and library director
respectively, are promoting the library’s 7th annual Lake Oswego Reads on Monday, January 7. Library
cardholders can pick up a free copy of Running the Rift by Naomi Benaron.
