2013 Festival of the Arts Steering Committee
Greetings from the mayor
Amessage from the festival co-chairs
Thank you for your time and commitment to ensure a successful festival!
The Festival continues as a
greatly anticipated event for
the city and the area, drawing
together neighbors, visitors,
tourists and talented artists in a
three-day celebration of the arts.
The exhib-
its in this
anniversary
year promise
again to be
a premier
showcase
for the best
in visual
arts, crafts,
performance
and entertainment.
We encourage all visitors
to wander through the city or
explore GalleryWithout Walls,
more than 60 fabulous sculptures
on loan and in the permanent
collection which are selected,
installed and maintained by the
Arts Council of Lake Oswego.
While participating in the
festivities, we hope you will take
the opportunity to explore our
city by visiting our business
districts, award-winning parks
and neighborhoods. You’ll find a
friendly and welcoming commu-
nity dedicated to the arts.
Welcome again to the 2013
Festival of the Arts. We hope you
have a truly enjoyable time and
that you visit our wonderful com-
munity again soon.
Mayor Kent
Studebaker
Greetings and
welcome to the 50th
annual Lake Oswego
Festival of the Arts
We welcome you and your family to this year’s Festival of the Arts
Welcome to our celebration
of the 50th anniversary of the
Lake Oswego Festival of the
Arts. Because celebrations most
often include food, our special
exhibit, Spoon, in the Lakewood
Center lower level, focuses on
culinary inspired art. Take the
time to visit this and all the other
exhibits at the Lakewood Center
and at Art in the Park in George
Rogers Park. See what each
curator has done to make the
50th extra special. You can read
about each component of the
Festival in the following pages.
You will also find a listing of the
many demonstrations and great
music options in the schedule of
events.
As we turn 50, we must say a
special thanks to all of you who
have supported us throughout
the years. Whether you are a
sponsor, an artist, a volunteer or
Festival attendee, we could not
do this without you. A special
thank you goes to our more than
50 steering committee members
who have worked for the past
year to make this event extra
special. And thank you to Dee
Denton and the Lake Oswego
Chamber of Commerce, who 50
years ago, had the vision to start
this great community event.
Have fun!
