October marks exciting times
at the PRO!
the month of October is one
of the busiest months of the year
for the members of the Profes-
sional remodelers Organization.
We have many opportunities
this month to get involved, pro-
mote your business, make new
connections, have a ton of fun,
grow our organization and give
back! On the first tuesday of the
month, October 2, we’ll have our
PrO Marketing and Executive
committee meetings at the HBA
where PrO leaders help shape
the organization’s direction and
programs. October 4-7 marks the
Fall Home & Garden show, the
region’s ONLY home improve-
ment show this fall. October 12
is the final day for PrO member
remodelers to submit their en-
try packets for the 2013 tour of
remodeled Homes, our premier
showcase for the Portland area.
the Salmon Bake on October
11 will reveal the results of the
Board of Directors elections and
we will learn who will be repre-
senting the PrO in the coming
year. October 18 will feature our
remodelers round table and As-
sociates Forum events – both are
great ways to engage with other
members about business issues
that affect you! Our monthly
meeting and lunch will take
place at BAScO on Wednesday,
October 17 and will feature our
first product presentation of the
year. Of course, we will all be on
hand on Sunday, October 21 for
the Second Annual PrO Bowl &
Bet at Gametime in Lake Oswe-
go. We finish out the month by
setting up the final preparations
for the return of the Santa house
at Bridegport Village with over 30
volunteers and donors needed to
set-up and touch-up our nation-
ally award winning promotion
from last year.
All-in-all, there is a little some-
thing for every PrO member
this month! If you want more

PRO Monthly Meeting
this month’s PrO meeting is
at noon on October 17 at the
BAScO Applainces showroom lo-
cated at 1400 NW Davis, in Port-
land. BAScO and their partners at
Bradlee Distributors have paired
up to bring Mark Williams, from
Broan, Nutone & Best, out to
speak about some great product
information and code changes
relating to ventilation and venti-
lation hoods. BAScO always hosts
the PrO in the spring but they are
graciously bringing us back for
lunch to see their showroom in a
whole new light. Please be con-

2013 Tour of Remodeled
Homes™
If you are serious about your
business and proud of the work
you do, you should have a home
in the 2013 tour of remodeled
Homes™. Entry packets are due
back at the HBA by October 12. If
you would like an entry packet, or

Santa needs help from the PRO
After a very successful (and na-
tionally recognized!) partnership
last year for the Santa House at
Bridgeport Village, we are look-
ing to strike that Pr gold again!
the PrOs are going to set-up and
retouch the same beautiful house
we showed off to thousands of
visitors during the last holiday
season. this project is driven
completely by donated labor
and materials and we need more
PrOs to become involved to en-
sure its success. We will begin
loading in and erecting the Santa
House on November 9 and need

PROs talk education at annual
Round Table meeting
thank you to our friends at
FloFOrM countertops for host-
ing the September 19 Profes-
sional remodelers Organization
monthly luncheon at their beau-
tiful showroom in Beaverton.
the group discussed some of
the best classes and presenta-
tions they attended in 2012 and
what they would like to see for
2013. the most popular topics for
classes the PrOs would like to see
included sales tools, embracing
technology, marketing tips, and
a back to basics style approach to
service. the idea of offering quar-
terly cEU credits at PrO lunches
was also brought up – so look for
that new offering in the coming
year! the informal and open for-
mat of this meeting lead to one
of the most active and engaged
luncheon sessions all year. We
hope you’ll join for lunch at the
next PrO meeting at noon on
October 17, hosted by our friends
at BAScO Appliances, 1411 NW
Davis in downtown Portland.

volunteers to sign up for what
will once again be a couple of in-
tense but very fun days of build-
ing, painting, roofing and laying
the floor. Several companies have
already shown their support for
this project but it will take lots of
labor to produce the high quality
example of the Professional re-
modelers Organization work that
we want to showcase at this high
end shopping center teaming
with potential leads! In exchange
for producing the house for San-
ta, the PrO Logo and Professional
remodelers Organization name
will be featured on all of the
Bridgeport Village media during
the holiday season including their
onsite signage, handouts, email
blasts, website, any tV coverage
the house gets and their Orego-
nian and Portland Monthly Maga-
zine ads. Please consider giving a
few hours of your time and exper-
tise, or some materials or services
to this project which will help us
promote the PrO brand to the
greater Portland community, and
in doing so, elevate our members’
