BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS

AUGUST, 2013

Summer is
in full swing,
a n d
t h i s
building “sea-
son” seems
to be one to
enjoy, for both new and remodel
construction.
Here at PRO, we try very hard
to present opportunities to help
make your business stronger by
offering lunches and events to
encourage networking and idea
sharing, and as your Chair, I en-
courage all of you to take advan-
tage of these. One upcoming op-
portunity to promote your com-
pany and PRO is by volunteering
a little of your time to drive the
Golf Cart full of potential cli-
ents, up and down the Street of
Dreams this year. If interested,
please contact Jessica M. at the
HBA.
Another way we strive to give
you information that is tailored
to what you want is the Remod-
eler’s Round Table discussion,
where remodelers we can openly
discuss anything with our peers,
such as contracts, problems we
encounter, insurance, etc. This is
an open, honest discussion with
some of the best around, and all
of us are willing to share insight
and provide help to each other.
Please join us on August 22 for
the next Remodelers Round
Table with special guest Chris
Zimmer of OSHA. RSVP to Jessica
Metteer at
jessicam@hbapdx.org.
Thank you for your continued
support of the PRO.

3rd Annual PRO Bowl 2013
The PROs really know how
to have fun – and one of the
ways we do that is with our an-
nual Bowling and Poker Tourna-
ment, the 2013 PRO Bowl & Bet,
presented by Ferguson. This
challenging team event will fea-
ture a two flight bowling and
Texas hold’em poker tourna-
ment. Registration forms will be
mailed the first week of August,
so keep an eye on your mail-
box and send those back right
away to guarantee your spot in
the tournament. There are still
sponsorship opportunities avail-
able for this event! If you’d like
to find a way to get involved,
please contact Jessica Metteer
at (503) 684-1880.

“Nobody expects more from us than we do”
is more than just a tagline to the associates of
Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery (Fer-
guson). It’s a cultural belief that is demonstrat-
ed every day through exceptional customer
service, product selection and industry knowl-
edge. Ferguson has been delivering on this
promise for almost past 60 years and has earned
a strong reputation
amongst builders,
architects and re-
modelers across
the country.
Need design in-
spiration?

12,000 square foot
showroom is lo-
cated in the heart
of NW Por tland.
The location of-
fers the finest se-
lection in lighting,
appliances, bath and kitchen faucets, fixtures
and accessories from today’s most recognized
manufacturers.
The layout of the showroomwas designed to
inspire. Customers can browse exquisitely de-
signed bathroom displays and complete kitch-
ens. They can also explore numerous vignettes
ranging in styles from classic elegance to bold
contemporary.
“With working showerheads and a fully-func-
tional kitchen in the showroom, a homeowner
can not only view various styles and finishes,
but they can also test the functionality,” said
Christopher Hoag, Showroom Manager. “We
offer a large array of luxurious and functional
options to suit any taste or budget.”
The showroom has a dedicated designer
lighting area featuring top name brands such as
Hinckley, Hubberton Forge and Progress Light-
ing. Fixtures include chandeliers, pendants,
wall sconce, under-cabinet lighting and more.
A lighting expert is on-site to assist with design
and product selection.
In addition to lighting and traditional plumb-
ing products, Ferguson also offers appliances
from topmanufacturers like Jenn-Air, Wolf/Sub-
Zero, and Thermador. They are displayed beau-
tifully within kitchen vignettes so homeowners
can assess the design, size and functionality.
Hoag comments, “Ferguson is truly a one-stop
shop for homeowners. We understand people
are busy and they don’t have time to drive all
around town. It is a real advantage tomake mul-
tiple product selections all at the same place.
Not only does it help with budgeting, but it also
makes the building process more efficient.”
Dedicated team of experts
Professional contractors enjoy working with
Ferguson because the company serves as an
extension of their business. A dedicated team
of experts help homeowners with design, prod-
uct selection and budgeting and stay involved
throughout the entire building or remodeling
process. They work to ensure that projects are
streamlined and products are delivered when
they are needed.
As well, showroom consultants all have years
of industry experience and are extremely
knowledgeable about the products Ferguson
carries. They evaluate the home’s blueprints
and make product suggestions based on build-
ing specifications and budget. Homeowners re-
ly on their recommendations and they become
a trusted source of information.
“Our first custom-
er service priority is
to make sure the
right product is de-
livered at the right
time,” said Hoag.
“Our consultants
have a passion for
service that is easy
to see after just one
visit to our show-
room.”
Dependable de-
livery
Ferguson man-
ages their branch inventories based on local
market needs and is supported by strategically-
placed distribution centers. This offers the best
of two worlds - small and large businesses. The
just-in-time delivery of products to satisfy rou-
tine requirements is an everyday event. But the
easy and fast accessibility to products not read-
ily available in local markets is a true advantage
for customers.
Our 11 distribution centers with more than
5.5 million square feet provide unparalleled
fill rates in the industry. Ferguson stocks thou-
sands of products by major manufacturers in
branches and distribution centers, and inven-
tory is always available. The company’s buying
power and vendor relationships ensure that if a
customer needs something that is not in stock,
Ferguson can get it quickly.
Online options
For Ferguson’s professional customers, it of-
fers a free business-to-business transactional
platform named Ferguson Online (www.fergu-
sononline.com). The website offers plumbing,
HVAC, PVF, waterworks products and more.
Users can check real-time product availability,
place and track orders, shop using their own
codes and print statements.
“Ferguson Online has been great for our
contractor customers,” said Hoag. “Even if the
counter or showroom isn’t open, they are able
to browse our products and order at their own
convenience. Ferguson online is open 24/7 365
days a year.”
For Ferguson’s showroom customers, www.
ferguson.com offers a Virtual 3D Planner. Sim-
ply choose an empty or predesigned room, add
products and decorate the room. After the de-
sign is complete, the item list can be printed,
saved or emailed. It is a great tool for home-
owners to use before a showroom consultation.
Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery

are welcome, but appointments are recom-
mended. For more information, call (503) 222-
