The RingSide Steakhouse
Do you remember a steakhouse from your childhood
— dim lights, the smell of seared meat, the sound of
Frank Sinatra? Not only does the RingSide resemble
that steakhouse in every detail, but if you born in Port-
land any time after 1944, it is that steakhouse. It’s a
Portland institution that doesn’t coast on its reputation.
5 p.m. to midnight Monday-Saturday, 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 2165 W.
Burnside St., 503-223-1513, ringsidesteakhouse.com
Otto’s Sausage Kitchen and Meat Market
The young man grilling sausages out on the sidewalk
is most likely a descendant of Otto Eichentopf, who
started making sausages on Woodstock Boulevard in
1922. The family still makes a range of fresh and
smoked sausages for their funky little deli, and sells
them hot off the grill — snappy, porky and juicy — rain or shine.
9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, 4138 S.E.
Woodstock Blvd., 503-771-6714, ottossausage.com
