John Denny has been covering local sports in Clacka-
mas County for over 36 years, including the last 17 with
the Clackamas Review and Oregon City News newspa-
pers. He began his newspaper career with the Enterprise
Courier, a now defunct daily newspaper in Oregon City,
in 1970. He has received numerous honors for cover-
age of community and high school sports. Last year the
Oregon Golf Association named him its Dale Johnson
Media Person of the Year. Denny was named the Oregon
High School Coaches Association Sports Writer of the
Year in 1995, and he’s been named Media Person of the
Year four times by the Oregon High School Wrestling
Coaches Association (1976, 1985, 2007, 2008). Denny
holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the
University of Oregon.

Raymond Rendleman has been the news editor for
The Clackamas Review and The Oregon City News for
more than three years, where he covers local happenings
in Milwaukie, Oregon City, Gladstone, Happy Valley
and nearby unincorporated areas. His reporting has ap-
peared in The Portland Tribune, numerous other local
publications and national magazines. A graduate of Reed
College, his wife works for Portland Opera. The Society
of Professional Journalists has given him awards for ex-
cellence the past four years in a row.

John Wilson has been working at the Clackamas Re-
view / Oregon City News since February 2011 in Ad-
vertising sales. His market area includes Oregon City,
Gladstone and Oak Grove.
With a management degree, John started his career
with a major camera company in Torrance, Calif. He re-
located with the firm several times, landing in Troutdale
in 1991. He volunteers in Troutdale as a City Councilor.
John continues to develop his market with many new
products offered by Community Newspapers. Those
products include print ads for the weekly paper, as well
as special sections, Web ads and customer website de-
velopment.
To better understand our customers’ businesses, John
uses information from Pulse marketing. The research
company studies purchases our readers plan to make in
the near future.
John also is involved with the Oregon City Chamber
of Commerce and helps promote community events in
his market area.

A native of Portland, Oregon and young-
est of three girls, Judy grew up in the The
Salvation Army Portland Tabernacle Corps
(Church). After earning a Bachelor’s degree
in Elementary Education from Oregon Col-
lege of Education, she moved into the field of
Gerontology as the Director of The Salvation
Army Rose Center for Senior Adults, located
in NE Portland, followed by 13 years as the
Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Pro-
gram (RSVP) just south of Portland. Look-
ing for a change, she accepted the position of
Business/Program Manager for The Salvation
Army Monterey Peninsula Corps in Califor-
nia, which led to the call of God upon her life
to become a Salvation Army officer.
Throughout her career as a Salvation Army
officer, Judy held appointments at: the Col-
lege for Officer Training, Tustin Ranch
Corps, International Headquarters (IHQ) in
London, England, Territorial Headquarters
(THQ) as Evangelism Secretary, Golden State
Division as Divisional Secretary for Program,
and Western Territorial Headquarters as the
Assistant Secretary for Personnel Officer Ser-
vices and two years as the Territorial Secretary
for Program.
On June 27, 2012, Lt. Colonel Judy Smith
was appointed as the Cascade Divisional
Commander, in charge of all The Salvation
Army’s efforts in Oregon and Southern Idaho.
Judy’s 24 years of service as a Salvation Army
Officer are a reflection of God’s hand of protec-
tion and grace. She is happy to be back in her
hometown with family and friends and serving
the community she grew up in.

fectious laugh and big smile.

Cindy Anderson has been in the construc-
tion industry for over a decade. After receiv-
ing her MBA from Oregon State University
she decided to combine her knowledge with
her love of the home remodeling industry.
Cindy’s company CSC, Custom Stone Cre-
