Welcome
Welcome to our annual
update of Beaverton’s
Business Directory,
Community and Visitor
Guide. I can’t believe it
has been a full year since
the last publication. As
you probably know, the
revised guide has been
so well received, we can’t keep copies of this
publication on the shelf.
And why is that, you ask? Because as our
citymotto declares, “Beaverton is the Best of
Oregon!” We have somuch to be grateful for as
a community: great schools, fantastic parks, a
great sense of safety and quality of life.
In 2013, the city of Beaverton will achieve
another milestone. We will be celebrating
our 120th year as a city, at the same time
the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce
celebrates 60 years of service. In honor of
thesemilestones, our theme for this guide is
“Celebrate Beaverton, Celebrate Business!”.
You’ll get a peek into our past as you learn
about the great things that are currently
happening.
I am so honored to beginmy second term
as your Mayor. As I reflect on what we’ve
accomplished together—voter approval of a
$150million urban renewal plan for downtown
Beaverton, national recognition for our
community visioning and sustainability
programs, the approval of an enterprise zone
area to help stimulate expanding businesses,
andmanymore wins—I findmyself motivated
to see what we can accomplish in the next four
years.
My priorities for the next termare continuing
to build and strengthen our partnering
relationships—because no organization can
meet today’s challenges alone. I will continue
to push our economic development strategies
tomake Beaverton themost attractive and
competitive city in the region. I will work with
our community to finally, after 120 years, build
a public safety facility that meets the needs
of our police department, court systemand
emergency operations.
I invite you to take amoment and reflect
on where we’ve been as a community and
how bright the future is that awaits us! And
please joinme in celebrating Beaverton and
celebrating business!
Denny Doyle,
Mayor

Welcome to the 2012-
2013 Business Resource
Directory and Visitors
Guide for Beaverton,
“The Best of Oregon.”
2013 marks Beaverton’s
120th birthday and
the Chamber’s 60th. I
hope this year’s guide
helps remind you of the
importance of history
and celebrating accomplishments. While we
reflect back on where we’ve come from, it
is more exciting to see where Beaverton is
heading in our near future!
Our 30 year Vision plan has made
tremendous progress the past two years,
the passage of Urban Renewal will soon be
changing the landscape of our downtown
core, the Downtown Business Association
has made steps this year with Beaverton
First Fridays and more. In late June of
this year, Beaverton was awarded its
first Enterprise Zone, which will provide
incentives to increase manufacturing &
industrial redevelopment and family wage
jobs for our citizens. We are poised for great
re-development and private investments
that will spur job growth and improve our
quality of life.
This Guide is a tremendous tool to
help you support your locally owned and
operated businesses. Shopping local is
important….it is, in fact, vital! Please
reference this guide and frequent our
members and advertisers. They believe in
Beaverton and I know you do too!
If you have a business in our area and
want to join forces with an active, positive,
energetic association of business and
community leaders dedicated to improving
the quality of life in the Beaverton area…
we’d love to have you! It feels good to make
a difference.
