Fire Departments
Clackamas Fire District #1
The district sprang up from the
union of several smaller departments
that had previously served the region.
First established in 1976 by the merg-
er of Milwaukie Fire District #56 and
Multnomah County Fire District #12, it
has grown through the years.
The district covers about 200
square miles. Responding to more
than 15,000 incidents annually, the
district’s commitment to professional-
ism was proven in 2000 when it
became the first fire department in
Oregon to achieve international
accreditation.
